The Weakley County Municipal Electric System (WCMES) has been powering progress in our communities since 1938. Guided by an independent Board of Public Utilities, WCMES operates as a self-sustaining public utility, reinvesting its resources into dependable service for the people it serves.
Today, WCMES provides electricity to about 20,500 customers through 12 substations and more than 1,700 miles of distribution lines. Its team of 60 full-time and 10 part-time employees is dedicated to ensuring safe, reliable, and affordable power for homes, businesses, schools, and industries across Weakley County, South Fulton, Bradford, and rural northeast Gibson County.
